Child Safety Standards
Effective September 7, 2026 · version childsafety-v2
The short version
The short version: Enso is an adults-only service. Child sexual abuse and exploitation is prohibited absolutely, we remove it and the accounts behind it without warning, and we report it to law enforcement. Anyone can report a child safety concern from inside the app, and you can reach a person directly at childsafety@ensosocial.app.
1. Enso Is an Adults-Only Service
Enso is for adults aged 18 and over. There is no account type for minors and no under-18 sign-up path.
- Sign-up requires a date of birth, and anyone under 18 is refused.
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that an account belongs to a minor, we remove the account and delete its data.
- If you believe a minor is using Enso, report it in the app or write to childsafety@ensosocial.app and we will act on it.
2. What Is Prohibited
The following are prohibited on Enso without exception, whether in profiles, posts, stories, messages, circle or event content, usernames, or anywhere else:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — any sexualised depiction of a minor, real, drawn, animated or synthetic, including AI-generated material.
- Sexualisation of a minor in any form, including text, captions and commentary.
- Grooming, or any attempt to build a relationship with a minor for sexual purposes.
- Sextortion, or threatening to share intimate images of a minor.
- Trafficking, solicitation, or arranging any sexual contact involving a minor.
- Seeking, offering, requesting or linking to any of the above.
There is no warning, no strike, and no second chance for this category. Accounts are removed immediately, and the device is banned where we can identify it.
3. How to Report
Anyone can report child safety concerns, and you do not need an account to reach us.
- In the app: use Report on any profile, post, story, comment or conversation. Reports about child safety are prioritised above all other report types.
- By email: childsafety@ensosocial.app. This address is monitored by a designated point of contact who can speak to our CSAE prevention practices and compliance.
- You can also report directly to the authorities, and we encourage you to. In Canada: Cybertip.ca. In the United States: the NCMEC CyberTipline at report.cybertip.org. Elsewhere: your national hotline or local police.
Reporting to us is never a substitute for contacting law enforcement when a child is in immediate danger. Call your local emergency number first.
4. How We Detect and Review
Reports are reviewed by a person, alongside automated checks on content that is stored on our servers in a readable form — profile photos, posts, stories and event media.
Being straight with you about a limit of the design: direct messages on Enso are end-to-end encrypted, so we cannot read them and cannot scan them for prohibited material. That is a deliberate property of the product, and it means message content reaches us only when a participant in that conversation reports it — the report carries the content from the reporting person's own device. We act on those reports the same way we act on any other.
When content is reported, we preserve it — including its photo or video — until the review is finished, even if it would otherwise have expired or been deleted.
5. What We Do About It
On confirming child sexual abuse or exploitation:
- The content is removed.
- The account is permanently banned, and the device is banned where we can identify it.
- The material and the account records are preserved for law enforcement.
- We report to the relevant authority. Enso is operated from Ontario, Canada, and we report to Cybertip.ca and to police as required under Canadian law, and to NCMEC where the matter concerns the United States.
We comply with all child safety laws that apply to us, and we respond to lawful requests from national and regional authorities. Our process for handling those requests is set out in our Law Enforcement Guidelines.
6. Point of Contact
childsafety@ensosocial.app reaches the person designated to speak to Enso's CSAE prevention practices and compliance, including for regulators, platforms and law enforcement.
For everything else — general safety concerns, harassment, or account problems — use Settings → Support in the app, or support@ensosocial.app.
