The short version

The Map is optional — Enso works fully without it. If you do use it to meet people from Enso in person, these tips are for you. They don’t cover everything, and no app feature replaces your own judgment. In an emergency, call 911.

Before You Go

  • Tell a trusted friend or family member where you’re going, when, and who you’re meeting. Share your live location with them if you can.
  • Look at the event details and the host’s profile. The verified badge and how long they’ve been on Enso (shown as Member since) are the signals the app gives you — use them, and use your judgment.
  • Have your own plan for getting there and getting home that doesn’t depend on anyone you’re meeting for the first time.

Meeting Up

  • Meet in public places, especially the first time. Daylight and busy venues are your friends.
  • Consider bringing a friend — Enso events are better in groups anyway.
  • Keep your phone charged and with you.
  • You never owe anyone your address, your workplace, or a ride.

Alcohol & Substances

  • Know your limits and stay in control — it’s much harder to make good safety decisions when impaired.
  • Watch your drink being made and never leave it unattended.
  • Never feel pressured to drink or take anything. Anyone who pressures you is telling you something important about themselves.

Trust Your Gut

  • If something feels off, it probably is. You can leave any event or conversation at any moment — you don’t owe anyone an explanation.
  • It’s okay to be "rude" to stay safe. A ride home costs less than ignoring your instincts.
  • Hosts: if an attendee is making others uncomfortable, ask them to leave, and report it in the app.

Reporting, Blocking & Emergencies

  • Use Block to immediately cut contact with anyone. They won’t be told you blocked them.
  • Use Report (⋯) on profiles, messages, posts, and events so we can review it and act on the account. Reports are confidential.
  • If a crime occurs or anyone is in danger, call 911 first — then report it to us so we can act on the account.
  • The app is never a substitute for emergency services.
