Delete your account

The short version

Settings → Account → Delete account. Your account is hidden immediately and permanently deleted 30 days later. You can cancel any time in those 30 days by signing in — nothing is lost. If you can’t get into the app, email support@ensosocial.app from the address or phone number on the account.

In the app

  1. Open Enso and sign in.
  2. Go to Settings → Account.
  3. Choose Delete account and confirm.

We’ll email you when you request it, again about 5 days before, and again 24 hours before. If we don’t have an email address for you, we send the same notices as push notifications and show a countdown in the app.

If you can’t sign in

Email support@ensosocial.app from the email address on your account, or tell us the phone number you signed up with. We’ll verify it’s you before deleting anything — that check protects you from someone else deleting your account.

What gets deleted

After the 30 days, permanently and irreversibly:

  • Your profile, name, username, photo and bio
  • Your posts, comments and stories, including the photos and videos
  • Your messages and your encryption keys
  • Your connections, and the circles you hosted or joined

Once the 30 days are up this cannot be undone by anyone, including us. We don’t keep a copy.

What we keep, and why

  • Reported content. If something of yours was reported, we keep it until the moderation review finishes — even if you deleted it. An open report also pauses deletion of your account until the review is done. This is how safety reports get investigated fairly.
  • Legal records. Which version of the Terms and policies you accepted, and when.
  • A one-way tombstone. An irreversible hash, so a deleted account can’t be silently re-created to evade a ban. It cannot be turned back into your phone number or email.

Want a copy first?

Before deleting, you can download everything we hold about you as a JSON file: Settings → Privacy → Download my data. It’s free. Your messages are end-to-end encrypted, so the app adds their text from your own device — our servers can’t read them.

Just want a break?

Deactivating hides your profile, content and messages from everyone else. Nothing is deleted, there’s no time limit, and you can come back whenever you like. It’s in the same Settings screen.
